"A portrait of Judah once a week, every week, in 2013"

21/52 - I'm a little late to the game with this week's portrait. We were out of town for five days looking for a place to live in Kansas City! Thomas got a new job and we are moving there on June 22nd. Crazy.
This picture was taken last Wednesday - we were playing out on the field, and you were pointing at an airplane up in the sky. With your mouth full of dehydrated apples & blueberries :) Little did you know that the very next day we would be ON an airplane up in the sky!!! You LOVED it.

"A portrait of Judah once a week, every week, in 2013"

20/52 - Your vibrant blue eyes, flyaway blond curls, and perfect little face... my heart just melts into a puddle when I look at you. You are so adorable.

water baby

This past week has been nice and warm so we tried swimming again... the water is still a little chilly, but you don't notice it so much after a couple minutes. Judah couldn't care less - he'd probably still swim in the dead of winter.

He is totally fearless in the water - tries to swim right off the steps. This leads to many mouthfuls of swallowed pool water, but it doesn't seem to faze him! I can't take my eyes off him for a second.

He spotted a "buh-dee" in the tree.

Climbing up and down the steps.

Playing with momma's hair band in the water :)

Not interested in taking a picture with me!

Finally got him to look, but he was not happy about it :) He'd much prefer to be diving off the steps...

And then Dada came home from work and rescued him :)

I foresee many pool days this hot Texan summer!

"A portrait of Judah once a week, every week, in 2013"

19/52 - It's not perfectly clear, but I love this picture. We were at the kid-sized prairie village at the Arboretum and you were exploring the little houses... running in and out and squealing with delight, always looking back to check that we were watching :)

Bloglovin ... I jumped on the bandwagon

I've heard rumors that Google Reader is going away, so I jumped on the Bloglovin bandwagon!

18/52 - Poor angel, you've been so sick this week... momma and dada too. Being outside really lifts your spirits, so even on our most exhausted and sick days, we would step outside the door for a few minutes. Now that we are all feeling a bit better, we've been going out for short walks and you get out and push your stroller around until you got tired. You are still full of cold and probably contagious so we can't do much else!

family saturdays

My mind is still trying to catch up with the idea that it is MAY. May, people. My baby is almost 15 months old.

This past week has been a rough one - we've all been sick with what we have fondly named "the plague", a lovely combination of a 24-hour stomach bug and a lingering virulent cold. At one point Thomas and I were so sick and exhausted and Judah was unsettled and screaming and wouldn't sleep... we were at the end of our ropes. We were wishing for our own mommies! Thankfully we have some sweet friends (thank you Koerners, and Anna!) who dropped off supplies and we are recovering slowly.

Thinking back to happier times... on Saturday a couple weeks ago we went on a little outing to a field nearby. Family Saturdays are my favorite kind. We get to spend all day with Dada... Judah is always so excited when he wakes up and finds that Dada is at home!

Judah is at such a fun age, and I love to capture his joy and intensity as he plays.
This $2 orange spiky ball = hours of happy playtime.

Favorite. picture. ever.

The Cheeks.

I can't ever get over your adorable little face. Looking at pictures of you almost makes me want to go pick you up from your crib and squeeze you. Almost. Wouldn't want to wake you up.
