Driving back to school...

We really didn't want to go back to JBU... so we stopped many times a long the way... like at this play ground :)

We're really just little kids, not college almost-graduates :)

Ben's the king of the castle

Bekah and Sarah's Grand rafting-down-the-river-on-tubes Adventure

The pictures say it all:

Before: Yay! we're going tubing!

After: eek! who's idea was that?

Wildflowers and hot tubs :)

On the way back to New Braunfels we found a wildflower field at the side of the road (in a cemetery, haha)... so we pulled over and took some pictures.

The field

Me and Thomas

When we got back into the car I put my flower behind Thomas's ear. He was driving so he couldn't do anything about it. Muahahaha... :)

When we got back we hopped in the hot tub... everyone else got out after like 5 minutes, but Bekah and I stayed in for ages. Now we look like prunes. My fingers are still wrinkly.

Fishing

The house that we stayed at was on a little canal dug out from the ocean. The back porch was right over the water.

The front

The back deck

This was where most of our time was spent :)

Pictures from the top deck looking each way down the sea water canal

Thomas, Aunt Jenny, and Caleb fishing

Thomas caught the most fish... I think the only other fish caught was by Lydia, actually!

Thomas also caught a sting ray! We put it in the net to take pictures and then let it go.

Two little fishermen

This was my idea of fishing...

Thomas and the little kids watching the "Iron Giant"... they were all pretty exhausted after playing at the beach and fishing all day!

The beach :)

Pictures from spring break in Texas so far! We're at the beach right now... staying in a beach house that belongs to some very kind people in Thomas's uncle's church.

The BEACH!

They found a jelly fish

Caleb and the jelly fish

This contraption sucks shrimp out of the sand (we used them for fishing bait)

Abby with the shrimp

Thomas and Ben braving the water... it was a little too cold for me

Bekah made it in too

Fun fun fun

Ben and Chelsea... so cute :)

Bekah and I were the picture-takers

Abby and Lydia

Thomas got stuck in the sand

He was very stuck. Ben had to pull him out.

Beach towels, flip flops and sunscreen... ahhhh... summer time

My stubby little feet and a butterfly shell

It took me a looooong time to get this picture. The waves kept washing it away.

One very sandy little boy

Bekah marching Josh off to get cleaned up

I took a goofy picture of Thomas

So he took a goofy picture of me

And then we all piled into the 15-passenger van... which now looks like a sandbox... and drove back to the beach house

More pictures coming :)

The trip down to Texas

On the first official day of spring (March 20th) we set out for New Braunfels thinking we were headed for 70 degree weather. It snow stormed on us for half the drive and rained for the rest. There were cars that had slid off the road pretty much every 500 meters in the snow and ice, so we were driving REALLY slowly for several hours. A trip that should have taken us about 9 hours took 12 hours... including a few stops to sort out my broken phone.

Here are a couple pictures of the unwelcome snow storm:

But the weather channel has promised 70 degree weather for the rest of the week and we are headed to the coast for a few days :) Hopefully the next pictures will be full of sunshine and sandy beaches :)
